YOU REALLY WANT TO INTERN HERE?!... GREAT! A few things to know:

- It's unpaid*

- 10-15 hours a week max (2 set days per week, pre-determined based on what works best with your schedule and semi-flexible with notice about conflicts etc)

- 2 months (or 80-100 hours, whichever comes first)

- For Summer: *Porter Flea (an artist market) is June 10-11th I will need *special* help those days and will pay accordingly! (Loading in and out, watching the booth and taking payments)

- I spend a fair amount of time instructing interns on the front end and giving small tasks that will enhance their understanding of letterpress regarding design, but more so building a level of comfort with the physical practice of handling the type and equipment. In subsequent weeks, as we build trust and confidence, the interns will take on more responsibility running the press, mixing ink and even designing cards and/or typesetting a poster. Ideally, this is a symbiotic trade of skill for labor. As a previous unpaid letterpress intern myself, I care very much that whoever learns from Camp Nevernice leaves feeling respected, educated and appreciated. I limit the amount of time you're allowed to work here for the simple reason that I acknowledge you'll need to work elsewhere to make a living, but it's my genuine hope that the education you receive will feel worth your time. In return, I expect you to commit to an agreed upon schedule and show up with a good attitude, eager to work hard and willing to go with the flow. Self employment is anything but predictable, and things rarely go according to plan.

Ideal qualities in a prospective intern:

- GOOD ATTITUDE. I have fun, but do not be fooled! I am working my butt off to stay in business. I do NOT NEED a negative nancy criticizing my business practices whilst I take the time to teach them everything I've spent 16 yrs learning.

- HARD WORKING. This is not a glamorous line of work. You will get ink on your hands and grease on your shorts. Your feet will hurt. There will be trash to take out and floors to sweep.

- CREATIVE. This doesn't mean you're already good at art or design. This means you're CURIOUS and like applying your brain to solving problems creatively! Bonus points if you like working with your hands.

- CONSCIENTIOUS. Take notes! There are lots of irreplaceable things that could get lost or damaged if you're not paying attention. Err on the side of caution and ask LOTS of questions.
